The Simons Foundation is seeking a full-time web producer skilled with WordPress. The web producer will work closely with the communications staff and technical team to produce content for the foundation’s websites and related social-media platforms, and help identify and create graphics and design elements consistent with the Simons brand.


Produce content – including text stories, video and landing-page updates – for Simons Foundation websites, including Simonsfoundation.org, SFARI.org and the upcoming Flatironinstitute.org.
Find and prepare images for online use, including securing permissions.
Select art and other graphics consistent with house style.
Design/prepare email announcements, including SF and SFARI newsletters, as well as announcements from the foundation’s divisions and collaborations (such as Math and Physical Sciences and Life Sciences).
Collect and analyze Google analytics data for monthly reports
Organize and upload videos to SF servers and other SF-branded channels (YouTube)
Back up communications assets to the digital asset management system
Other tasks as assigned



Bachelor’s degree or equivalent


At least two to three years of experience using WordPress to build or maintain websites
Highly functional, if not fluent, with Adobe Creative Suite products, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
Strong oral and written communication skills


Deep interest in science and a good familiarity with scientific concepts are a strong plus.
High taste level with strong aesthetic sense for scientific imagery
Strong command of English and solid proofreading skills
Excellent attention to detail and takes ownership of work product
Excellent organizational skills with and ability to prioritize work, manage time and balance workload under deadlines and with multiple projects.
The ability to anticipate and initiate communications with stakeholders to keep them informed
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
